STUDY IN NORDICS: WEBSITES OF UNIVERSITIES ARE THE NUMBER ONE SELECTION CRITERIA FOR STUDENTS
YLE (Finnish Broadcasting Company) revealed a news piece today saying that the websites of universities and polytechnics are the number one source of information, and decision making tool when selecting for the school to apply. Especially students were interested on so called “case studies” and testimonials of older students in same schools and universities.
One of the biggest polytechnics, Metropolia representative says that in high season (springtime) their site gets visitors up to 15 000 unique visitors per day.
Next to universities own websites, also social media such as facebook and twitter presence was seen important when looking for information among students.
The stydy was organized by company called Studentum and was carried out in all Nordic countries.
